Underwear???

So last Sunday Thomas decided that he was done wearing diapers and wanted to wear big-boy underwear.We figured “Why not, he has to learn sometime”.  So we put the underwear on him and he wore them all day.  So when we went to Walmart I figured I better get some more if he was going to wear them all the time now.  So I got him a package of spiderman tighty whities and a package of boxer breifs.  He was soooooo excited.  On the way home he fell asleep so when we got home we just put him in bed, and he didn’t have an accident even during his nap.  When he got up and went to the bathroom he decided that he wanted to wear the cool boxer breifs.  So I told Chris that was his job and was sure that Chris could help Thomas with the boxer briefs and to get dressed again.  Later that evening we went out back to paly.  So Thomas put his shoes on and out he went.  Then as I got Caitlin ready to go outside a friend called (Jennifer) and asked if we would like to meet for ice cream to celebrate Sam’s birthday.  Now of coarse Thomas wanted to go get ice cream with Sam so straight to the car we went.  Well, we went in dad’s truck and as dad was strapping Thomas is he realized that Thomas’s shirt was filthy, so he ripped it off and ran in and got another one.  I loaded Caitlin and got in myself. 

Off we went to the only Baskin Robbins left in Topeka.  Clear across town at 29th and California and it was about 8:00 PM and the place was packed.  We got there and Jennifer and Sam came to the car to get Thomas and I was telling them how proud I was cause Thomas had not had an accident all day and that he was wearing big boy pants.  Then they got Thomas out and set him down and Jennifer says “Does he have on Just Underwear?”  I was so embarrassed.  Chris had forgotten to put shorts on before we left.  They even have a fly in the front.  After we all got our ice cream, Thomas announced that he had to go to the bathroom and there was not a public bathroom anywhere near by.  So at 9:00 PM, at 29th and California in Topeka, I ran with my 3 year old wearing only underwear and a t-shirt across 29th street to the Walgreens to the bathroom.  There is never a dull moment in the Mason household.  What an evening and birthday celebration for Sam.
